1/3 = 1 × 3/3 × 3 = 3/9 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 9 × 1 = 9,
6/9 = 6 × 1/9 × 1 = 6/9 - Add the two like fractions:
3/9 + 6/9 = 3 + 6/9 = 9/9 - 9/9 simplified gives 1/1
- So, 1/3 + 6/9 = 1/1
