10/20 = 10 × 7/20 × 7 = 70/140 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 7 × 20 = 140,
4/7 = 4 × 20/7 × 20 = 80/140 - Add the two like fractions:
70/140 + 80/140 = 70 + 80/140 = 150/140 - 150/140 simplified gives 15/14
- So, 10/20 + 4/7 = 15/14
