3/12 = 3 × 5/12 × 5 = 15/60 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 15 × 4 = 60,
10/15 = 10 × 4/15 × 4 = 40/60 - Add the two like fractions:
15/60 + 40/60 = 15 + 40/60 = 55/60 - 55/60 simplified gives 11/12
- So, 3/12 + 10/15 = 11/12
