Steps for adding fractions
- Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:

Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 30 - For the 1st fraction, since 5 × 6 = 30,
3/5 = 3 × 6/5 × 6 = 18/30 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 6 × 5 = 30,
2/6 = 2 × 5/6 × 5 = 10/30 - Add the two like fractions:
18/30 + 10/30 = 18 + 10/30 = 28/30 - 28/30 simplified gives 14/15
- So, 3/5 + 2/6 = 14/15
