4/6 = 4 × 8/6 × 8 = 32/48 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 16 × 3 = 48,
2/16 = 2 × 3/16 × 3 = 6/48 - Add the two like fractions:
32/48 + 6/48 = 32 + 6/48 = 38/48 - 38/48 simplified gives 19/24
- So, 4/6 + 2/16 = 19/24
