6/9 = 6 × 7/9 × 7 = 42/63 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 7 × 9 = 63,
1/7 = 1 × 9/7 × 9 = 9/63 - Add the two like fractions:
42/63 + 9/63 = 42 + 9/63 = 51/63 - 51/63 simplified gives 17/21
- So, 6/9 + 1/7 = 17/21
