7/9 = 7 × 2/9 × 2 = 14/18 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 6 × 3 = 18,
2/6 = 2 × 3/6 × 3 = 6/18 - Add the two like fractions:
14/18 + 6/18 = 14 + 6/18 = 20/18 - 20/18 simplified gives 10/9
- So, 7/9 + 2/6 = 10/9
