- Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:

Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 90 - For the 1st fraction, since 10 × 9 = 90,
2/10 = 2 × 9/10 × 9 = 18/90 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 9 × 10 = 90,
3/9 = 3 × 10/9 × 10 = 30/90 - Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction
- 18/90 < 30/90 or 2/10 < 3/9
