Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 18 - For the 1st fraction, since 6 × 3 = 18,
3/6 = 3 × 3/6 × 3 = 9/18 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 9 × 2 = 18,
3/9 = 3 × 2/9 × 2 = 6/18 - Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction
- 9/18 > 6/18 or 3/6 > 3/9
