10/12 = 10 × 5/12 × 5 = 50/60 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 20 × 3 = 60,
18/20 = 18 × 3/20 × 3 = 54/60 - Add the two like fractions:
50/60 + 54/60 = 50 + 54/60 = 104/60 - 104/60 simplified gives 26/15
- So, 10/12 + 18/20 = 26/15
