Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 240 - For the 1st fraction, since 15 × 16 = 240,
10/15 = 10 × 16/15 × 16 = 160/240 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 16 × 15 = 240,
4/16 = 4 × 15/16 × 15 = 60/240 - Add the two like fractions:
160/240 + 60/240 = 160 + 60/240 = 220/240 - 220/240 simplified gives 11/12
- So, 10/15 + 4/16 = 11/12
