10/16 = 10 × 2/16 × 2 = 20/32 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 32 × 1 = 32,
2/32 = 2 × 1/32 × 1 = 2/32 - Add the two like fractions:
20/32 + 2/32 = 20 + 2/32 = 22/32 - 22/32 simplified gives 11/16
- So, 10/16 + 2/32 = 11/16
