10/20 = 10 × 3/20 × 3 = 30/60 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 30 × 2 = 60,
20/30 = 20 × 2/30 × 2 = 40/60 - Add the two like fractions:
30/60 + 40/60 = 30 + 40/60 = 70/60 - 70/60 simplified gives 7/6
- So, 10/20 + 20/30 = 7/6
