Add 10/20 and 30/10

Steps for adding fractions

  1. Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:
    LCM of 20 and 10 is 20
  2. For the 1st fraction, since 20 × 1 = 20,
    10/20 = 10 × 1/20 × 1 = 10/20
  3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 10 × 2 = 20,
    30/10 = 30 × 2/10 × 2 = 60/20
  4. Add the two fractions:
    10/20 + 60/20 = 10 + 60/20 = 70/20
  5. After reducing the fraction, the answer is 7/2
  6. In mixed form: 31/2
