Steps for adding fractions

  1. Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:

    10/5 = 10 × 6/5 × 6 = 60/30
  3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 6 × 5 = 30,
    10/6 = 10 × 5/6 × 5 = 50/30
  4. Add the two like fractions:
    60/30 + 50/30 = 60 + 50/30 = 110/30
  5. 110/30 simplified gives 11/3
  6. So, 10/5 + 10/6 = 11/3
    In mixed form: 32/3
