Add 10/60 and 10/90

10/60 + 10/90 is 5/18.

Steps for adding fractions

  1. Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:
    LCM of 60 and 90 is 180
  2. For the 1st fraction, since 60 × 3 = 180,
    10/60 = 10 × 3/60 × 3 = 30/180
  3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 90 × 2 = 180,
    10/90 = 10 × 2/90 × 2 = 20/180
  4. Add the two fractions:
    30/180 + 20/180 = 30 + 20/180 = 50/180
  5. After reducing the fraction, the answer is 5/18
