Steps for adding fractions

  1. Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:
    LCM of 25 and 30 is 150
  2. For the 1st fraction, since 25 × 6 = 150,
    15/25 = 15 × 6/25 × 6 = 90/150
  3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 30 × 5 = 150,
    10/30 = 10 × 5/30 × 5 = 50/150
  4. Add the two fractions:
    90/150 + 50/150 = 90 + 50/150 = 140/150
  5. After reducing the fraction, the answer is 14/15
