Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 60 - For the 1st fraction, since 20 × 3 = 60,
16/20 = 16 × 3/20 × 3 = 48/60 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 15 × 4 = 60,
14/15 = 14 × 4/15 × 4 = 56/60 - Add the two like fractions:
48/60 + 56/60 = 48 + 56/60 = 104/60 - 104/60 simplified gives 26/15
- So, 16/20 + 14/15 = 26/15
