Steps for adding fractions

2/4 = 2 × 3/4 × 3 = 6/12 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 3 × 4 = 12,
1/3 = 1 × 4/3 × 4 = 4/12 - Add the two like fractions:
6/12 + 4/12 = 6 + 4/12 = 10/12 - 10/12 simplified gives 5/6
- So, 2/4 + 1/3 = 5/6
