2/4 = 2 × 5/4 × 5 = 10/20 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 10 × 2 = 20,
3/10 = 3 × 2/10 × 2 = 6/20 - Add the two like fractions:
10/20 + 6/20 = 10 + 6/20 = 16/20 - 16/20 simplified gives 4/5
- So, 2/4 + 3/10 = 4/5
