2/6 = 2 × 8/6 × 8 = 16/48 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 16 × 3 = 48,
4/16 = 4 × 3/16 × 3 = 12/48 - Add the two like fractions:
16/48 + 12/48 = 16 + 12/48 = 28/48 - 28/48 simplified gives 7/12
- So, 2/6 + 4/16 = 7/12
