2/9 = 2 × 5/9 × 5 = 10/45 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 15 × 3 = 45,
10/15 = 10 × 3/15 × 3 = 30/45 - Add the two like fractions:
10/45 + 30/45 = 10 + 30/45 = 40/45 - 40/45 simplified gives 8/9
- So, 2/9 + 10/15 = 8/9
