Steps for adding fractions

1. Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:
   LCM of 50 and 60 is 300
   
   Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 300
2. For the 1st fraction, since 50 × 6 = 300,
   20/50 = 20 × 6/50 × 6 = 120/300
3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 60 × 5 = 300,
   20/60 = 20 × 5/60 × 5 = 100/300
4. Add the two like fractions:
   120/300 + 100/300 = 120 + 100/300 = 220/300
5. 220/300 simplified gives 11/15
6. So, 20/50 + 20/60 = 11/15
