Steps for adding fractions
- Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:

Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 12 - For the 1st fraction, since 4 × 3 = 12,
3/4 = 3 × 3/4 × 3 = 9/12 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 3 × 4 = 12,
2/3 = 2 × 4/3 × 4 = 8/12 - Add the two like fractions:
9/12 + 8/12 = 9 + 8/12 = 17/12 - So, 3/4 + 2/3 = 17/12
In mixed form: 15/12
