3/5 = 3 × 8/5 × 8 = 24/40 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 8 × 5 = 40,
6/8 = 6 × 5/8 × 5 = 30/40 - Add the two like fractions:
24/40 + 30/40 = 24 + 30/40 = 54/40 - 54/40 simplified gives 27/20
- So, 3/5 + 6/8 = 27/20
