Add 4/10 and 1/3

4/10 + 1/3 is 11/15.

Steps for adding fractions

  1. Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:
    LCM of 10 and 3 is 30
  2. For the 1st fraction, since 10 × 3 = 30,
    4/10 = 4 × 3/10 × 3 = 12/30
  3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 3 × 10 = 30,
    1/3 = 1 × 10/3 × 10 = 10/30
  4. Add the two fractions:
    12/30 + 10/30 = 12 + 10/30 = 22/30
  5. After reducing the fraction, the answer is 11/15
