Steps for adding fractions

  3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 7 × 10 = 70,
    3/7 = 3 × 10/7 × 10 = 30/70
  4. Add the two like fractions:
    35/70 + 30/70 = 35 + 30/70 = 65/70
  5. 65/70 simplified gives 13/14
  6. So, 5/10 + 3/7 = 13/14
