5/15 = 5 × 4/15 × 4 = 20/60 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 4 × 15 = 60,
2/4 = 2 × 15/4 × 15 = 30/60 - Add the two like fractions:
20/60 + 30/60 = 20 + 30/60 = 50/60 - 50/60 simplified gives 5/6
- So, 5/15 + 2/4 = 5/6
