6/10 = 6 × 2/10 × 2 = 12/20 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 20 × 1 = 20,
16/20 = 16 × 1/20 × 1 = 16/20 - Add the two like fractions:
12/20 + 16/20 = 12 + 16/20 = 28/20 - 28/20 simplified gives 7/5
- So, 6/10 + 16/20 = 7/5
