6/10 = 6 × 7/10 × 7 = 42/70 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 14 × 5 = 70,
7/14 = 7 × 5/14 × 5 = 35/70 - Add the two like fractions:
42/70 + 35/70 = 42 + 35/70 = 77/70 - 77/70 simplified gives 11/10
- So, 6/10 + 7/14 = 11/10
