6/15 = 6 × 4/15 × 4 = 24/60 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 12 × 5 = 60,
4/12 = 4 × 5/12 × 5 = 20/60 - Add the two like fractions:
24/60 + 20/60 = 24 + 20/60 = 44/60 - 44/60 simplified gives 11/15
- So, 6/15 + 4/12 = 11/15
