8/12 + 18/30 is 19/15.

Steps for adding fractions

  1. Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:
    LCM of 12 and 30 is 60
  2. For the 1st fraction, since 12 × 5 = 60,
    8/12 = 8 × 5/12 × 5 = 40/60
  3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 30 × 2 = 60,
    18/30 = 18 × 2/30 × 2 = 36/60
  4. Add the two fractions:
    40/60 + 36/60 = 40 + 36/60 = 76/60
  5. After reducing the fraction, the answer is 19/15
