  3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 6 × 5 = 30,
    12/6 = 12 × 5/6 × 5 = 60/30
  4. Add the two like fractions:
    270/30 + 60/30 = 270 + 60/30 = 330/30
  5. 330/30 simplified gives 11/1
  6. So, 90/10 + 12/6 = 11/1
