- Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:

Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 30 - For the 1st fraction, since 5 × 6 = 30,
15 = 1 × 65 × 6 = 630 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 6 × 5 = 30,
86 = 8 × 56 × 5 = 4030 - Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction
- 630 < 4030 or 15 < 86
