Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 180 - For the 1st fraction, since 90 × 2 = 180,
2/90 = 2 × 2/90 × 2 = 4/180 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 4 × 45 = 180,
1/4 = 1 × 45/4 × 45 = 45/180 - Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction
- 4/180 < 45/180 or 2/90 < 1/4
