- Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:

Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 6 - For the 1st fraction, since 2 × 3 = 6,
32 = 3 × 32 × 3 = 96 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 6 × 1 = 6,
76 = 7 × 16 × 1 = 76 - Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction
- 96 > 76 or 32 > 76
