- Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:

Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 60 - For the 1st fraction, since 20 × 3 = 60,
3/20 = 3 × 3/20 × 3 = 9/60 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 15 × 4 = 60,
4/15 = 4 × 4/15 × 4 = 16/60 - Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction
- 9/60 < 16/60 or 3/20 < 4/15
