4/15 = 4 × 3/15 × 3 = 12/45 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 9 × 5 = 45,
3/9 = 3 × 5/9 × 5 = 15/45 - Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction
- 12/45 < 15/45 or 4/15 < 3/9
