62 = 6 × 32 × 3 = 186 - Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 3 × 2 = 6,
83 = 8 × 23 × 2 = 166 - Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction
- 186 > 166 or 62 > 83
