1. Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:
   LCM of 48 and 24 is 48
   
   Next, find the equivalent fraction of both fractional numbers with denominator 48
2. For the 1st fraction, since 48 × 1 = 48,
   6/48 = 6 × 1/48 × 1 = 6/48
3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 24 × 2 = 48,
   2/24 = 2 × 2/24 × 2 = 4/48
