Steps for comparing fractions

  1. Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:
    LCM of 25 and 6 is 150
  2. For the 1st fraction, since 25 × 6 = 150,
    60/25 = 60 × 6/25 × 6 = 360/150
  3. Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 6 × 25 = 150,
    10/6 = 10 × 25/6 × 25 = 250/150
  4. Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction
  5. 360/150 > 250/150 or 60/25 > 10/6
